Groundhog day passed by us yesterday and the little fella had some news. Expect to see at least six more weeks of winter this year in those rental homes. We are not certain if that only applies to where we live, which is near Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Since the campus is littered with hundreds of these whistle pigs, you would think that forecast from Punxsutawney Phil held true in our town too. Those little varmints never really appealed to us. So we probably would not qualify as the foremost expert on the subjects. But we shall try and think you should follow along. Our apologies if you emerge less intelligent.
Under Rental Homes
These critters prefer to live underground in a home they make themselves. We like to call it a burrow. Spelled just like Joe Burrow, who graduated from Athens High School by the way. Anyways these burrows are pretty bad ash. Nothing like our rental homes, but they do make themselves different rooms and what not. Now we can guarantee you that there are no groundhog burrows under any of our rental homes. Our maintenance garage on Palmer, however, boasts a cute little family of burrowers.
The Movie
While not everybody can appreciate an entire movie having a title after that small mammal, Bill Murray thinks differently. While it only seems like yesterday, that movie actually premiered in 1993. It does seem like yesterday. Anyways, it has since become quite the classic and cult favorite. With unforgettable scenes like the day he finally takes full advantage of knowing the day is stuck on repeat. Oh that Bill Murray. They don’t talk much about rental homes throughout the movie, but you know they had to use a few for filming. Maybe something else too. Anywho, we think you should watch the movie to celebrate the day.
