Many people enjoy hunting. Hunting requires that you have a great patience and poise. Some don’t like the idea of killing animals. Killing animals is an important part of controlling the populations of the animals. There are all different kinds of animals in Ohio that you can kill. You are able to hunt wild turkey, white-tailed deer, small game, furbearers, and waterfowl. It is important to remember that you cannot hunt near your Uptown Student Housing. It is illegal to discharge a firearm within Athens city limits.
Uptown Student Housing
The state of says that you may kill a certain number of dear each season depending on the county you live in. In Athens county, you may kill three deer per season. Also, In some of the more populated counties such as Franklin, Hamilton, and Cuyahoga County, up to four deer may be killed. There are also many deer who wander about the city of Athens. You can find deer strolling around through neighborhoods and some deer are even spotted in uptown Athens. It is important to remember that you may not kill deer that you see within the city of Athens. You may not hunt near your Uptown Student Housing. However, you may hunt in nearby places in Athens County. You may consider hunting in nearby Chauncey or Coolville. I must reiterate that you cannot hunt around your Uptown Student Housing.
Hunting for Wild Turkeys
Wild turkey is another popular hunting target. No, not the classic 101 proof bourbon, but rather the wild bird found in many parts of Ohio. Wild Turkey hunting in the fall is permitted in seventy of Ohio’s eighty –eight counties. Fall wild turkey hunting season goes from early October to late November. You can kill only one turkey. Also, Turkeys are very prevalent in Athens County. You won’t find them near your Uptown Student Housing, but that is probably a good thing. It is legal to bring your dog to help you hunt turkey.
Field Dressing: It’s Kind of Gross
Field dressing is a yucky part of hunting. Also, you should not field dress in your Uptown Student Housing, as you risk losing your security deposit. However, you can field dress on site in the area where you killed the animal. Also, Hunting deer, turkey and other game can be a rewarding for you and is a very fun activity as long as you do things safely. However, There are plenty of places in Athens County where you can hunt, but remember that you cannot hunt near your Uptown Student Housing.
