Palmer Street House

Lawrenceburg, Kentucky is a very nice city. It is located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Lawrenceburg is in Anderson County. The site of Lawrenceburg was settled in the 1780s. A German named Jacob Kaufman initially settled the city.  Lawrenceburg was first called Kaufman’s or Coffman’s Station. Settlers also established the post office as Lawrenceburgh on January 22, 1817, for William Lawrence. He was a local tavern owner. The Court of Franklin County incorporated the city as Lawrence in 1820. In 1827 they renamed it Lawrenceburg. A sailor named Lawrence also provided the namesake. The city is about a 4 hour drive from Ohio University and your Palmer Street house.

Four Roses is also located in Lawrenceburg. Four Roses produces tasty bourbon.  It started to operate in 1888. The distillery opened in 1910. It is Spanish Mission style architecture. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The brand and its products have also changed since the beginning. Four Roses thrives in the 21st century. Four Roses is also located at what used to be the Old Prentice Distillery. J.T.S. Brown also started that distillery. Consider sampling some at your Palmer Street house.

Wild Turkey and Four Roses

Wild Turkey is also located there. The are also known for their flagship 101 proof bourbon. They produce many other products. In 1891, Thomas Ripy started building the Old Hickory Distillery. Ripy built the distillery on the former site of the Old Moore Distillery. After Prohibition, the Ripy family fixed the distillery and made bourbon. The Ripys also sold the bourbon made here to others. Those companies then sold the bourbon as their own brands. On May 9, 2000, a fire destroyed a warehouse on the company land in Anderson County. To this day people still love to tour the city. We expect people wanting to tour your Palmer Street house.
