As we enter the throes of winter break at Ohio University, people wonder what to do. This perennial problem exposes itself every year in December for people in Athens Off Campus Housing. With the most of the student population away from Athens during this time of year, those who remain need options. Anything will do. For a couple of ideas, follow along as we detail a few.
Athens Off Campus Housing X-mas Lights
Believe it or not, some of the college housing around town has holiday decorations. You probably won’t find the most intricate or festive displays. But you will find some creative people who take the college lifestyle into the holiday arena. It’s worth a slow walk around town. It’s also worth noting that you can easily pour yourself a toasty Irish coffee or a tasty hot toddy for the trip. You’ll thank yourself and probably also enjoy things a little more as well. Don’t forget to also search through the Athens Off Campus Housing just outside of town. If you have a car, you’ll thank yourself.
Donate Something
We heard that Anne Frank wrote that no one has ever become poor from giving. And Booker T. Washington said those who are happiest are those who do the most for others. Some words to live by as we continue through the season of giving. If you got an extra computer or TV laying around your Athens Off Campus Housing, give it to someone who could use it. If you don’t have money or things to donate, your time is the most valuable possession you have to give. There are plenty of places that could also use an extra hand any time of year. But if your doing nothing anyways, and you’ve already done that a lot, look into spending some time in a place that could really use your help. You’ll then remember that feeling you get when you do something small that also has a huge impact.
