With Independence Day fast approaching, we start with a brief lesson. Many people refer to Independence Day as “the Fourth of July” because the holiday takes place on July 4. The day commemorates the ratification of the Declaration of Independence by the 56 delegates of the Second Continental Congress. The purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to announce and explain America’s separation from Great Britain. The Committee of Five was the name of the group of men that wrote the document. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were part of this group. They scribed the document 450 miles from Athens, OH in Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia is also very far from any Housing Ohio University.

We associate that day with fireworks, parades, barbecues and more. Lots of people like to celebrate from their Housing Ohio University. There are fireworks near Ohio University every year to bring the holiday. There are also fireworks in other cities and areas throughout the United States.
Barbecues are a great way to celebrate. Many foods taste great when cooked on a grill. Burgers and hot dogs are a popular choice for barbecues. Other foods that you might not think of are also great on the grill. Such foods include vegetables and pineapple. Whatever you decide to grill it is important to do it safely. Caution must be taken because of the fire and products used to keep it going. It is important to be careful so that you do not damage your Housing Ohio University.
The day is also a great day for a little bit of reflection. We can reflect on how lucky we are to live in a place that gives us chances. Many people around the world are not as lucky as we are. They lack the kind of housing Ohio University that we know.
We hope this year the weather will be sunny and warm. If it happens to rain that would be crappy and would ruin many plans. But it is important to be fluid. And we hope all will have a great day at or near their Housing Ohio University.
