September 4, 2021 marked the 15th anniversary of the death of Steve Irwin. Steve Irwin was also known as “The Crocodile Hunter”. He was an Australian zookeeper, television star, and wildlife expert. Irwin grew up around crocodiles and other reptiles. His father Bob did not attend Ohio University, but he educated Steve on reptiles. He achieved worldwide fame from the series The Crocodile Hunter. In 1997 Steve Irwin discovered a new kind of turtle. Steve named the turtle after his family name. Steve also discovered another animal . The animal is a kind of land snail. In 1991, Irwin met Terri Raines. She is a naturalist from Oregon. She visited wildlife facilities in Australia and decided to visit the zoo. According to Steve and Terri, they fell in love at first sight. Steve and Terri engaged four months later. The couple married each other on June 4, 1992. The Crocodile Hunter
Irwin also loved martial arts and trained in the sport. Like many Australians, he was a cricket fan. This was seen during his visit to Sri Lanka where he played cricket with some local children. Irwin died on 4 September 2006. A stingray pierced Steve in the chest while filming in the ocean. The stinger stabbed his chest which caused massive bleeding.
